About Me

I am a humanistic therapeutic counsellor and I offer long and short-term therapy.

I have always been passionate about helping people and helping them reconnect with their true self. I decided to change my career and become a counsellor after my positive experience in therapy as a client. I believe that self-awareness is the foundation for personal growth and positive life changes.

My Experience

I began my journey as a counsellor in an intercultural therapy centre where I provided counselling sessions for clients with diverse backgrounds. Some of the issues I worked there: loss of identity, family and relationship issues, internalized racism, assertiveness, and personal boundaries.

I spent a year and a half working in an alcohol and substance abuse charity where I was seeing clients struggling with addiction. Alongside addiction, some of the other issues I worked with there: stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, childhood trauma and domestic abuse, anger and health issues.

Since late 2019, I have been working for a bereavement charity. Some of the issues I have worked with in this agency: grief, death anxiety, low mood and depression, negative thoughts, miscarriage, loneliness, suicidal thoughts.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for years in a professional capacity with young people and adults who had suffered crimes. I specialized in working with domestic and sexual abuse and I supported survivors and their children for years.

My Approach

The approach I use is integrative which means that I draw on different theories including psychodynamic, person-centered, and transpersonal depending on the client’s needs. The way I work is relational and client-led and the aim is to help you, my client, understand yourself, and the complex feelings that brought you to therapy. My goal is to make you feel heard, seen, and respected while in the counselling chair. If you choose to be my client we will work together to access your inner strength and resources and replace unhealthy patterns of behaviour with healthy ones.
