I am passionate in taking the stigma and taboo away from mental health and therapy. I strive to make therapy as accessible as possible and to ensure that my clients can get the support they need. I acknowledge that many clients come to therapy when they are worried, stressed, overwhelmed and some times frightened. I work to improve mental well being and resilience and to work with clients to support them to feel that they can cope with issues and concerns and can work towards their goals at their own personal pace.
I work well with clients who find it difficult to talk about how they feel, or ask for what they need. I help clients to build self esteem, be more self compassionate and build the tools they need to maintain mental wellness and resilience.
I am experienced in working with clients from a range of backgrounds with a variety of issues including sexuality, gender identity, cultural or race. I have provided short term therapy to students experiencing anxiety whilst on their course. I have helped with social anxiety, examination stress and general worry of living independently. I have also worked in a domestic violence unit, a GP surgery and a general low cost therapy service. I currently work in private practice supporting clients who are experiencing stress and anxiety in a range of different settings. This includes relationships, work settings and social situations. I also work with couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship including intimacy concerns.
I work collaboratively with clients to achieve their therapeutic goals. I use a range of tools from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to support clients to process their feelings and where desired to start making changes. I am non judgemental and empathetic and I provide a safe space to allow a client to bring whatever they want into the therapy. I work with clients who are seeking a solutions focus approach to making changes in their lives. I also work with clients who want a safe space to decompress and process what is going on their daily lives and to develop and maintain mental wellness and wellbeing.
