About Me

Counselling has the potential to positively change your life. Finding the right counsellor is most important. Making the first step can be difficult. I offer 15 minutes consultation free of charge to help you with your search to find the right professional.

I have 15 years of experience working with; anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, eating disorders, and addiction. I provide a safe space where you can explore your difficulties, identify obstacles, find tools, and resources to move forward and live a more satisfying life.

With support, you will not only get through difficult times successfully but use them as a stepping stone to advance in your journey of personal growth

I provide online sessions for quite some time, my clients say it works just as well ‘you forget there is a camera between us’

My Qualifications

My Experience

I have 14 years of experience working for various organizations as well as private.

Being accredited demonstrates an ongoing commitment to my practice and up to date professional development. I attend regular training throughout the year.

I currently work on an organization providing one to one and group support to victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

I am a specialist in dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) symptoms.

Over the years I gained substantial experience and knowledge working with addiction; alcohol, drugs, sex, food and behavioral related addiction problems, codependency and eating disorders. I have a good understanding of 12 steps recovery programs.

Grief and loss. Relationship difficulties. Obsessive-compulsive disorder. Survivors of childhood abuse. Are some of the areas I can help you with confidence.

My Approach

Integrative counselling draws from the main theoretical models;

The psychodynamic approach looks at how our past can influence the present.

The humanistic approach places more emphasis on 3 core conditions; empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence (these are not skills to be acquired but rather personal attributes ‘experienced’ by the therapist and then communicated to the client)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy challenges negative thoughts and old habits that sabotage our best intentions and is our main source of anxiety or stress.

My work is a combination of these.

In our first session, I will assess your situation, difficulties, and needs. I believe the relationship between client and therapist is most important, creating a safe environment therapeutic work can successfully take place.
