About Me

Being heard, understood, believed in and supported. We all need this kind of support at some point in our lives. This is my offer to you.

I stand for a confidential, ethical and professional therapeutic experience with you at the centre. I would hope our session might feel warm, compassionate, non-judgemental with an empathetic relationship being felt between us. I believe that if we can achieve this in our sessions then you will have everything you need to live effectively with what you bring.

I practise in person at the following locations (subject to pandemic restrictions and client risk assessment):

    Cheltenham:  GL50 3QH – See above
Gloucester: Suite 16, Westgate House, Gloucester GL1 2RU

I can sign in British Sign Language to a very basic level (Level 1 or below) in the hope that it might increase accessibility to clients who are hearing impaired.

My Experience

I have worked in a large corporate employee assistance programme (welfare service) offering counselling.  During this time I worked with a range of mental health issues.  I currently work with clients for longer periods of time (as weekly sessions) with common and complex mental health issues.

I am a qualified, registered and accredited counsellor (please see my links above for validation) and I am held on the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register thus ensuring protection to the public and helping to ensure their health and wellbeing.

My Approach

We will spend 50 minutes together and you will decide what you wish bring to the session. Our first session would see us derive a common understanding of how we might work together along with what outcomes you might be seeking.

During our sessions we will explore what has brought you to counselling and the experiences you are currently having. I will listen to you, reflect back what I think I have heard, highlight emerging patterns or perhaps interpret what might be going on. Above all, I will want to witness your experiences and hear you.

The methodologies I use are:
– Person Centred Therapy (listening and following you)
– Psychodynamic Therapy (considering how history might be shaping an issue)
– Integrative Therapy (recognising your uniqueness I will blend aspects of these therapeutic approaches according to your specific needs)

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.  I wish you well and applaud your presence on this site…you have made your first step to a different future.
