About Me

My name is Kim Tapper ( Over 25 years experience)

I have been a fully qualified counsellor for over 25 years . Originally training at the :London school of counselling and Psychotherapy I am registered with the B.A.C.P and I am listed on their approved register. I mainly take a person centred approach, which is the belief that we can can all find the answers and solutions to our problems from within ourselves . However, I do use other approaches when required. including CBT. My job is to guide you gently through the counselling process helping you overcome the conflict and the issues you are facing .

My Experience

My experience has been working with adults and teenagers and couples  from a variety of different backgrounds. I specialise in anxiety and stress management,. anger management and depression. . I also work with couples, helping with relationship communication and mediation . I cover a wide range of other issues which include bereavement and loss, self esteem issues, family problems with separation and or divorce, domestic violence, and remaining child hood issues and traumas.. I am committed to providing the best care for each client and will work in the way that suits each individual .

I am currently also working as a support worker with autistic children, so have understanding of the issues and problems this can bring into the family environment.
I attend my own regular supervision sessions, which is a a requirement of the British Association of Counselling .

My Approach

I mainly take a person centered approach   working with the clients in a safe trusting environment,  enabling them to discover the answers to their conflicts from within.  However I do use CBT if required and wanted.

Every client is an individual,  and what works for one will not work for another.  It is my aim to embark on a journey with my clients that is individually focused on their needs.
