I’m a Graduate Integrative Counsellor, providing short and long-term theapy. I don’t diagnose you or tell you what to do, rather support you with whatever it is you wish to bring. I offer a collaborative and understanding therapeutic relationship believing that Counselling helps with many problems whether they are relational, emotional or caused by trauma. It provides some time and space to focus on your concerns, often leading to gaining insight and clarity. It’s an opportunity for honest open communication, without the fear of judgement and repercussions. This self-exploration tends to aid growth and healing, ultimately resulting in change and acceptance. You will be both seen and heard, whatever it is you’re going through.
I have been a Counsellor for a general practice organization providing long-term therapy. I have also worked for a domestic violence shelter, using brief and short-term therapy for residents and outreach clients. In the past I’ve been a Mentor for care leavers and facilitated group meetings for a charity supporting adult survivors of child sexual abuse.
My approach is an integration of the following therapeutic modalities: Person-centred, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Existentialism, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Solution-focused and Transactional Analysis. This means that I can tailor my approach to suit you. This can be from exploring your history and how this may be effecting you in the present, to working with coping mechanisms, aims and goals and Mindful positive reframing.
