About Me

There is no one reason to come to therapy, and no issues are too big or too small. I have an LGBTQ+ affirmative approach and respect every individuals chosen identity as equal and valid.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with additional training in CBT, creative communication, and working online. I work 1:1 with clients online from my private consulting room.

I provide traditional 50 minute therapy sessions. My specific training in working online allows me to adapt my face-to-face work to get the most out of sessions. I also work using email which can be helpful when sessions are difficult to schedule, or to work alongside these sessions when needed.

I approach therapy in this way to provide a safe, exploratory space for my clients where we work to grow understanding. I have interests in psyche-soma, the connections between our minds and bodies, as well as neurodiversity, and how early experiences shape us and how we see the world.

My Experience

I’ve been working as a therapist for over 10 years. In that time I have worked with many different client groups, including working with adults in private practice for long and short term therapy, working as a student counsellor at a university for some years, working as a young people’s counsellor in person, and online.
I have experience of working with clients for open-ended therapy, that may span months or years, and also working in the much shorter term for 6-12 weeks. I am skilled in providing appropriate therapy for the presenting issues of my clients and adapting my approach to fit your needs.
Currently I work with a range of adults and young people, providing psychotherapy in person and online. I have a wealth of experience in working with depression and anxiety, relationship issues, issues from childhood, family issues, neurodiversity (especially the ASC spectrum), borderline/emotionally unstable personality disorder (BPD/EUPD), LGBTQ+ issues, women’s issues, and much more.

My Approach

My approach to therapy puts the relationship between you, the client, and me, the therapist, at its core. Some people come to therapy to address specific issues, others to find out more about themselves. Some people come because of a sense that things are not ‘right’ and they want to find out why. Your reason and your journey through therapy is unique. I will work to understand you and to help them understand themselves in a non-judgemental and open space.
My approach is psychodynamic. We have a rich unconscious world, I work with you to bring this into awareness. Difficulties in current relationships can be understood through recognising influences of our past & internal ways of working. I use CBT to help with issues such as anxiety, or unhelpful patterns of action or thought and to ease difficlut symptoms like panic. I work short and long-term.
My approach to therapy is collaborative. I offer trial sessions as a first meeting. This is an opportunity for both of us to find out how we fit and to think about what work we can do together to help you with your issues, goals, or just to know yourself better.
