About Me

At a young age I’ve witnessed parental domestic abuse, bullied at primary and secondary school which created isolation, this triggered me to have low self esteem, anxiety and depression which went on to effect me in areas of relationships and confidence. As I went into adult life I suffered with post natal depression and mental health anxiety. As well as helping in my own recovery using CBT and holistic approaches All of the above has helped me to understand the conditions and how to help people better along side being able to relate to a persons experiences for the better. . This is one of the reasons why I chose this field of work although I did a law degree.

I offer therapy via Zoom or Whatts app or Telephone.

My Experience

I initially worked as a Low intensity therapist for mild anxiety and Depression from 2005, i then went into the role of a Community Development Worker in mental health in the NHS for the Black Minority Ethnic Community and whilst doing this work I was offered the opportunity to train as  a cognitive Behavioural Therapist which I very readily took up as i loved helping people one to work as well as in group , and then did the training and since 2012 I went onto  become a qualified CBT therapist and have not turned back since then ,I love what I do and cannot be more grateful for being able to do a more helping role, to aid others to get better emotionally and have more control over what at times can feel lie the biggest battle in there lives which is there mind.

My Approach

Having worked in the NHS for over 10 yrs counting as a Cognitive Behavioural therapist, I understand how difficult it can be for you to engage in therapy and better your life. However, I have also learnt how giving you time, knowledge, openness to explore what you are going through , where it has come from, in a non-judgmental environment can help you overcome these difficult and confusing feelings and behaviors. If you suffer from issues caused by relationship, work, health, certain negative experiences, childhood , financial or external issues then this can all be discussed and addressed within the therapy of CBT.

I offer Cognitive Behavioural therapy for anxiety and/or depression in my private practice for adults . This uses skills and techniques which help you to learn to manage your anxiety and depression much better . Within this therapy I like to adopt a holistic approach via the integration of looking at health, lifestyle , diet, etc. As it is all interlinked.

CBT involves

In CBT we work on the 5 main areas which maintain anxiety and depression. These 5 areas are:

situations

thoughts

emotions

physical feelings

actions

CBT is based on how these 5 areas interconnect to affecting a persons mental wellbeing. For example, your thoughts about a certain situation can often affect how you feel both physically and emotionally, as well as how you act in response.
