If you are thinking about making some changes in your life, and if you feel you need a helping hand, I can help you find a way through. I know it’s a cliché but you really have made the first step already. Take a few minutes to read a little more, and if you think I can help, just let me know.
I have over 30 years experience within Addiction /Dependencies, and related fields, working with a wide variety of clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I have developed and managed an integrated Hypnotherapy approach which includes aspects of Solution Focus and Motivational models, and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In addition to Alcohol and Drug problems, many of my clients have been seeking help for Anxiety and Stress, Relationship difficulties, Phobias, Confidence issues and Smoking Cessation.
All that might sound a bit complicated but, to be honest, it can be quite simple really. We talk things over for a bit, look at the changes you want to make, decide between us if Hypnotherapy might help, and we take it from there. There is no great mystery to Hypnotherapy. Nothing to be afraid of. No one can make you do anything you don’t want to do. TV stunts are nothing to do with Hypnotherapy. In all these years I’ve never seen anyone cluck like a chicken but I’ve seen plenty make a positive difference to their life.
I decided to become a Therapist many years ago following a struggle to overcome my some of my own issues. I experienced a few different therapies before eventually finding my way through. I was very lucky to get the right kind of help at the right time for me and I am still here today, still standing.
I had the benefit of many Counsellors and Therapists along the way, some very good, and perhaps some that were not ok for me. I took myself off to University and specialised in Dependency issues. I trained in Psychodynamic and Systemic models, worked as a Counsellor and Trainer for a few years before eventually developing the Integrated Hypnotherapeutic approach as a baseline for my work nowadays.
I believe that as we are all individuals, with individual and varied needs, there is no one – size fits all to the kinds of help and support we often need. I aim to provide a person-centred approach in working with all my clients, enabling them to find and use their own resources to help them make the changes they wish for in their lives.
Hypnotherapy is an extremely effective method of dealing with problems, difficulties, and life-limiting or life-damaging issues. If you are feeling anxious, stressed, or even if you feel your life is out of control; if you need some extra help to reduce weight or develop a healthier lifestyle; if you finally are ready to stop smoking, making that call is the first step.
