Life can have many anxieties and you may not know who to turn to for support. I offer a relaxed and confidential space in which we can explore what life changes you would like to make. As an experienced counsellor I can walk this path alongside you, offering support along the way, listening to you without any judgement, all of which can lead to making positive changes in your life.
Coronavirus: during this time I am supporting clients online and over the telephone. The changes to day-to-day life and living in uncertain times could lead us to feeling anxious and worried. It is natural to feel like this, I am here to support you to look after yourself and to feel in control.
I have extensive training and experience of supporting individuals with a variety of mental health and wellbeing difficulties including but not limited to, Depression, Anxiety, Low-self-esteem, OCD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Self-Harm, Suicidal thoughts, Domestic Abuse, Sexual, Emotional and Physical Abuse. I also have experience of working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
I offer Cognitive Behavioural informed Therapy (CBT).. According to CBT research, individuals who are offered CBT remain well for longer. CBT focuses on challenging unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. I also offer Person-centred Counselling, which was founded by Carl Rogers. It is a non-directive talking therapy. I will provide you with a non-judgemental, empathetic environment and support you so that you feel empowered to find your own solutions and make appropriate changes in your life.
I also offer Rewind Therapy; according to the Intenational Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy Rewind Therapy has become internationally recognised as indispensable to treat PTSD, anxiety and phobias and may provide closure”.
Rewind Therapy is used to treat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and phobias such as flying. This technique is an effective and comfortable treatment of which may reduce and provide closure for trauma, anxiety and phobias. Clients are guided through a deep state of relaxation and visual imagery. There is no need to talk about the traumatic incident which could re-traumatise clients. The Rewind Therapy technique is also known as the visual/kinaesthetic dissociation technique. This technique may reduce or even stop:
Intense distress due to reminders of the trauma
Physical sensations such as pain, shaking, nausea or sweating
Intrusive thoughts or images
