About Me

Phone or Zoom, etc.  £25-45/ session. 8am-10pm except Fridays.  Registered  BACP.  Clinical experience. Masters psychology degree.  Diploma in counselling.  Conducting a doctorate research thesis.

I am an eclectic professional with years of clinical experience: currently a Trainee Counselling Psychologist on a professional doctorate in counselling psychology, already with a Diploma in Human Relations & Counselling (Psychodynamic modality) and an MA Hons Psychology degree, as well as extensive and broad working and voluntary experience over four years.

My Experience

I’ve a background in Psychodynamic Counselling, with extensive experience in trauma, abuse and interpersonal relationships, but with skills applicable to most uncomfortable circumstances you may be experiencing: during the initial  consultation we both decide if the service is suitable and if we may be able to work together.

You will be working with a qualified and experienced counsellor who has a masters degree, post graduate diploma, and is currently working towards a doctoral level research thesis. I’m a member of the British Psychological Society (UK), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Counselling & Therapy in Scotland.

My Approach

Throughout sessions, on the same day and time weekly, you will find yourself talking and being listened to. Now and again I will ask questions. From your answers will come insights useful in the process. This will most likely feel and be experienced as a conversational exchange yet behind my questions are psychodynamic tools which will be used to frame responses from you that will aid in uncovering deeper causes of your issues you experience, which may stem as far back as early childhood.

We may look at the unconscious processes that may influence the way you are feeling. We tend not to focus on solving immediate problems, but rather we look for deeper reasons for your current distress. This way we are focussing on a long term improvement for you.

However, I also appreciate that every individual is different and I hope that you may find safety in the relationship; finding the understanding that you seek while exploring your thoughts and feelings.
