I am a counsellor and psychotherapist, living in North Devon in England.
I have formerly been a teacher and run my own business in London.
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, having worked in the field for over 25 years. Much of my work has been in private practice, working in central and north west London, Milton Keynes, and now North Devon. I also work online using Skype or Vsee.
I have seem clients for a huge range of issues, including trauma from childhood as well as critical incidents like rail crashes, bank robberies, muggings and so on. I was the school psychotherapist at Romans Field School in Milton Keynes, the Counselling Manager and Clinical Lead at Bedford Open Door Counselling Service for Young People, and trained counsellors at Milton Keynes College, and Terapia in North London.
I work in what is called an integrative way. This means I use the insights from psychodynamic and child development theory, which I also taught for 10 years. I integrate this with humanistic ideas of warm, human relating in order to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible.
I do my best to meet each client at the place they are at when they arrive, and engage with them on how they can explore their life, both current, and the past if and when they might wish to go there.
I work short-term and long-term, for just the amount of sessions that you as the client wants. The best way forward I have found is to have 1 session first, to see if I am the person you want to accompany on your journey of self-discovery.
