My passion for human connection is the main drive behind my work as a therapist. Born and raised in a very multicultural environment, I find myself at ease working with individuals of many different backgrounds. I strongly believe in adapting therapy techniques and approaches to individuals’ cultures, religions and backgrounds. This is also a major research interest of mine.
Creative expression is another one of my passions and I enjoy writing poetry, articles, as well as short stories.
Ive gathered experience from a very wide range of settings and a diverse group of clients. This includes working at a PTSD-specialised Psychiatric Hospital, as a Clinical Counsellor for an Employee-Assistance Program, as a member of reflection team in psychodynamic therapy…
My experience includes a wide range of clients, including bereavement, depression, anxiety, major life changes, divorce, infertility and miscarriage.
I currently work in private practice, as well as at an In Vitro Clinic.
I believe that therapy is a highly unique and individual experience – not a one size fits all kind of thing!
Everything depends on the person and their personality or needs, so I work using a range of approaches from different schools of psychotherapy. I integrate components of cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic, humanistic and solution-focused therapies.
I do believe in creative expression and often try to integrate a clients interests or passions as tools in the process!
I am also currently undertaking a professional accreditation course in Schema Therapy.
