About Me

I am a qualified Psychotherapist counsellor who practices with a Humanistic & Integrative approach. This means I will focus on the needs of you, using techniques from different approaches.

Each and everyone of us are unique and therefore I do not feel I am the expert of you and can tell you what to do, my belief is to support and guide you, with my experience to help you work through your concerns. So that you can start to feel more complete within yourself.

The first step in starting counselling can feel overwhelming, bringing past thoughts to the surface and stirring up feelings of being judged, neglect, not trusting the other. My attitude is to value you for doing the best you can. It can be tough for us at times. Let us accept us for who and how we are right now at this moment.

I have personal experiences around being judged, mental health as well as trauma, so please do not feel you are alone. Once we allow ourselves to sit with the uncomfortable feelings, we will begin to flourish.

My Experience

For most of my adult life, I have been in roles, where I have supported others. This being mostly within Corporate companies. I always felt I could do so much more and had a lot more to offer, for this reason I turned to the Counselling Career.

This change of direction allowed me to focus on myself as well as train to reward and see others grow, develop to a more peaceful and comfortable place.

During my training, I have supported age groups of 13 – 75, this bringing a variation of unmet needs. Which I vastly welcome. It can be challenging at times, but with constant supervision and following the guidelines of BACP, I ensure I can offer support to the best of my ability and needs.

Diversity and feeling judged can be at the fore front for most of us. I feel being a first generation Indian lady, this is an area which I strongly uphold and value. I see you and not the cover. To work in diverse backgrounds for me is to be more flexible within my approach.

I am also able to offer the Punjabi language should this be needed for clients.

My Approach

I practice with the Humanistic and Integrative approach, which allows me to adjust myself to how you need us to be in relationship. I believe that interaction within a supportive role is key, as well as maintaining boundaries, trust and building confident between each other to form the basis of our therapeutic relationship.

I will tend to bring in creative therapy, which from experience has offered words for people, who may struggle to connect with their emotions. It is rewarding and empowering to see the movement within this field of working.

I will not direct or tell you what to do, that is not how I practice, it feels more real for you to guide yourself to where you it is you need to go, with my support. This allows the safe space for you, until you are ready to work to a deeper level. there is no rush, we all transpire in different levels and for this there is no right or wrong way to grow.
