About Me

I have a BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have been practicing Person-Centred Experiential Therapy for over 3 years and I have most recently become qualified to practice clinical EFT tapping. I am currently working towards certification with ACEP (Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology). As well as being a member with ACEP, I am also a member with the BACP so I adhere to both parties ethical framework.

As mentioned above, in my therapeutic practice I use both EFT and PCE psychotherapy. I find PCE very useful for empathic understanding as this then translates into effective EFT. By understanding the client just as if I had experienced their distress myself, I can help to formulate efficient specificity in set-up language and reminder phrases. This helps to quicken the process as the SUDS (subjective units of distress) go down much quicker, allowing for a cognitive shift meaning we can move on to the next part of my clients’ story.

I have used EFT for a number of different presenting issues such as; limiting beliefs, anxiety, depression, peak performance, childhood trauma, bereavement, PTSD, shame, guilt, addiction. The efficacy of EFT combined with PCE therapy astonishes me every time! The two therapeutic techniques work in harmony with one another and I have found that I am now able to use both with great success.

My style in session is not dissimilar to how I am in my every day life. You will be met with a warm energy every time we work together. I am caring, compassionate, a great listener and I also have a professional but fun side. More than this, I hope to be part of your journey to becoming your authentic self by being the light that guides you in your struggle.

My Approach

My style in session is not dissimilar to how I am in my every day life. You will be met with a warm energy every time we work together. I am caring, compassionate, a great listener and I also have a professional but fun side. More than this, I hope to be part of your journey to becoming your authentic self by being the light that guides you in your struggle.

Person-centred experiential therapy focuses on the clients experiencing, how they symbolise their experiences and the emotions that go with this. It is a talking therapy and I am there to guide you through rather than give you advice. This type of therapy is brilliant for getting to know and understand yourself – parts of you will come into your awareness for the first time which can be difficult if these are parts you would rather not see. However, this is where growth takes place and it will allow you to handle future situations with gained insight.

EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) sits under the umbrella of energy psychology. In EFT the client would tell the story of a bothersome memory or trauma whilst simultaneously tapping on acupoints. EFT releases stuck energy thereby removing the emotional charge attached, allowing you to feel freer. This technique allows for cognitive shifts (in my opinion) much quicker than other therapeutic techniques.
